Searching For The High Road

I didn't have a lot of time for a ride yesterday so I rode the usual Summit, River Boulevard loop for 14 miles. Along the way, there were several car eating water holes right on the road... It pays to pick the right road engineers which Saint Paul obviously didn't do. There are plenty of roads that drain to the sides perfectly in our state. Not River Boulevard in Saint Paul though... Water drains into the road, collects and stays there. That's why riding in the Stillwater, Lake Elmo area is so much better.

I think I saw you; were you on Summit closer to Dale than to River Rd. shortly before dusk? I'm sure I've seen you a couple of times. I'm always in my pink jacket. I try to wave, but Summit is just bouncing the hell out of me, so it's kinda hard to do.

It's so hard to work full time and get miles in at this time of the year, isn't it? Yesterday was so, so perfect. It was really hard not to keep riding right into the dark.

Yeah, that was me if you saw me in my blue and yellow Loon State kit... I've got enough Loon State clothing now that I'll probably be in the kit on most rides... Until I get tired of blue and yellow for a while... Summit is really bumpy from the winter/spring frost heaves. It should smooth out in a few weeks. If I catch you in the pink jacket, I'll make sure to wave back...
